Biography
With a dreamy, retro-active sound tinged with new school breaks, Best Boy Electric touches on the past while pushing into the future. The artist finds further nuance through a punky, wavey and EBM edge so commonly associated with the port-side-city Best Boy Electric hails. A name the Hamburg streets won’t forget, the artist operates the Dream Journal party series as a resident at Golden Pudel Club, and as part of the queer feminist collective POSSY, goes lengths to recognise and represent FLINTA* artists and their presence within the music community and clubbing landscape. Becoming something of a mainstay component for Globus and Tresor lineups in the 2020s - at the invitation of Helena Hauff and L.F.T too - Best Boy Electric has rapidly become a familiar name alongside the likes of DJ Stingray, Gesloten Cirklel, Erika and Solid Blake all the more. With this reputation, Best Boy Electric’s sets have fit the bill for Dimensions, Nachtiville and Krake festivals - next to celebrated mixes for Groove, the Killekill Podcast, and a much loved mixtape for Tissue Magazine. Informed and resolute to their craft, Best Boy Electric is leaving an indelible mark on not only Hamburg and Berlin, but clubland and the vibrant evolution of electro itself.
