John Rolodex

His early releases on Ray Keith's Dread Recordings led to global recognition of his signature heavyweight sound and support from every major figure in the genre as well as numerous spins by the venerable John Peel (OBE) on his iconic BBC Radio 1 show. John quickly garnered the attention of DnB figurehead Goldie, leading to releases on his Metalheadz imprint and an ongoing affiliation with the imprint which continues today. His Rainmaker EP (October 2020) received critical acclaim and widespread support among the key figures in DnB. In 2010, John founded Machinist Music, a label focusing on raw, undiluted sounds within DnB. Early releases include some of the first from Rene LaVice, Trex and Acid Lab. In the subsequent decade, Machinist has released music from dozens of established and developing artists around the globe. Machinist Music is now operated alongside Dioptrics (USA). John has headlined events in dozens of cities across Europe and North America... from Oslo to Budapest; from New York to Vancouver. His ongoing relationship with Bassdrive.com has led to tens of thousands of new fans across the globe. His recent guest mix for Re.set Radio in Colombia reported an audience exceeding one million. John has directed music videos and completed scoring work for film and television. He enjoys combining sound and visuals and regularly does so in various capacities for his releases on Metalheadz and most releases on Machinist Music.
