About
Mixmaster Doc is a name synonymous with the deeper, more atmospheric side of North American Drum and Bass. For over two decades, the Charleston-based producer and DJ has been a cornerstone of the stateside movement, known for a signature sound that bridges the gap between gritty urban textures and lush, soulful liquid. With a discography spanning prestigious labels like 31 Records, Innerground, Fokuz, and Integral, Doc has earned the respect of the genre's pioneers and its new guard alike. Whether he’s crafting rolling basslines or intricate, jazz-inflected breakbeats, his music is defined by a "grown-up" sensibility—sophisticated enough for the headphones, but engineered for the system. In an era of disposable digital sounds, he creates music meant to last. His collaborative works with artists like Random Movement and his celebrated solo works showcase a producer who isn't afraid to let a groove breathe. Doc’s music doesn't just fill a dancefloor; it builds an environment. Mixmaster Doc continues to be a vital force in keeping the spirit of authentic, soul-driven DnB alive.
