Skenai v1.13.0: the week, the map, some air

Trends, the week in drum & bass

A new page holds the week on one screen: how many nights in the next 30 days, where it plays, who is booked the most, the new tracks, the weekend's nights, and the most played chart. The chart counts SoundCloud plays gained in 7 days, says how many places each artist gained or lost, and compares their week with the one before in percent. The title can be set: "This week in neurofunk · United Kingdom", and the whole wall recomputes. On a phone, each card becomes a screen to swipe, like a story.

The map like a maps app

The map is driven from a single column: search on top, styles as chips below, and one panel at a time. An artist's quick card is compact: play their track, see their next date, open the full page, then swipe through their proven collaborations and play each one.

A one-sentence home page, and an Artists page

The home page says in one sentence what Skenai is and offers to search for an artist right away. A new Artists page lists the whole map, most followed first, with search, a style filter and the artists active in the last six months.

The whole site breathes

Pages take the air of the Trends page: a quiet kicker, a big headline, flat cards with space between them. Long lists (past dates, collaborations, remixes, labels) show their first rows and unfold in one click.

Fairer pages, a lighter map

An artist page says whether the artist is active, their city and their real name when known, and sets aside namesakes found on Resident Advisor. The map embedded on the home and artist pages weighs three times less (0.8 MB instead of 2.4) and stays silent until you touch it.
