7th Storey Projects was founded in 2009 by Simon Hesford as a passion project with a focus on unearthing and re-releasing classic old skool hardcore, jungle, and drum and bass music from the 90s. Inspired by the iconic labels Ninety Two Retro and Sublogic Recordings amongst others, the label initially aimed to help maintain interest in these iconic sounds and prevent them from fading into obscurity. However, over time, 7th Storey Projects evolved as much into a platform for modern-day productions that capture the essence of these older styles, driven by the wealth of new musical talent that needed a space to showcase their work. In 2011, the label expanded by launching an online store, which not only sold its own releases but also featured music from other independent labels.
